Stop bottom trawling on seamounts

Bottom trawling is a fishing practice that drags huge nets across the seafloor, killing everything in its wake. Worse is bottom trawling that targets underwater mountains - or seamounts - which contain ancient corals and sponges, creating unique ecosystems. We're calling on the Government to ban bottom trawling on seamounts.   

Ban seabed mining in Aotearoa

Seabed mining is a risky and untested industry that threatens ocean life.  In Aotearoa we have been fighting the seabed mining industry - and have taken a case all the way to the Supreme Court, which quashed the company's consent. 
Now, it's time for the NZ Government to ban it altogether.
