Ban seabed mining in Aotearoa
Seabed mining is a risky and untested industry that threatens ocean life. In Aotearoa we have been fighting the seabed mining industry - and have taken a case all the way to the Supreme Court, which quashed the company's consent. Now, it's time for the NZ Government to ban it altogether.

Greenpeace
Stand against seabed mining in NZ
Call on Chris Hipkins to take a stand against seabed mining.
Any political party that takes environmental protection seriously must stand against Trans-Tasman Resources' plan to seabed mine in the South Taranaki Bight.
We must stop this fast-tracked "zombie project" that is seabed mining, before it starts.

Taranaki, Manawatū - Against Seabed Mining
If you're a resident of the Taranaki or Manawatū-Whanganui Region, call upon your elected officials in the Taranaki Regional Council, Horizons Regional Council, South Taranaki District Council, New Plymouth District Council and Whanganui District Council to oppose TTR's fast track bid for consent. It is vital that the health of this abundant ecosystem is protected to ensure the long term health of these habitats and the wellbeing of our communities.

Help get 30% of our ocean protected by 2030
Despite our ocean territory being 15 times larger than our landmass, New Zealand currently has less that one percent of its ocean areas protected.
Add your name to show your support for '30x30' - 30% of our ocean in Marine Protected Areas by 2030.

Stop bottom trawling on seamounts
Bottom trawling is a fishing practice that drags huge nets across the seafloor, killing everything in its wake. Worse is bottom trawling that targets underwater mountains - or seamounts - which contain ancient corals and sponges, creating unique ecosystems. We're calling on the Government to ban bottom trawling on seamounts.
